Emily Thornbury was in the shadow cabinet but didn't get a government job when they were elected. She'd be a thorn(bury) in the side of Two Tier Kier, I reckon. The best of a mediocre bunch.

It doesn't matter which gender the co-leader is; but any whiff of a "DEI hire" or an all-woman shortlist would be a preemptive death knell.

One would normally say it should be the best person for the job, but it's an elected position so that just doesn't apply. The last female elected leader of the tory party did a wonderful job
