Spent over an hour at the park this morning, my little one is really mastering the balance bike now. Cooked lunch after that and ate. Just put a wash on and I'm unloading & loading the dishwasher now.

…do you still have your visitors from Ireland…?…gosh, those little ones do need bikes to keep up with them, don’t they……I mean, they’re babies and then in a blink they’re toddlers…

….let’s hope that he brings the correct ones back because if he confuses and gets the wrong relatives your chilling days might be over for a bit…

Visitors went home a few days ago, we had a lovely time with them. Me and the toddler will be flying over just before Halloween, very exciting! We've had the bike less than two weeks and I've already had to raise the seat up, it's amazing how fast they grow!

….awwwww, being a Grammi is equal parts joy and risk assessment…if only he would wear a crash helmet and elbow and knee pads for all of his waking hours, it might be a bit less stressful……his parents are a lot more confident because they know his abilities and capabilities more but for grandparents it’s just all DANGER!!!!!!….

Yeah, there is a lot of risk at this age, they are little daredevils. We don't take the bike or tricycle out without a helmet and the kiddo understands that, thankfully!

I need to talk some trash.

My husband sends me an update while at work like "FINALLY!!!!"... because our trashcan has been busted since they fixed it the day they finally picked up our Recycling after that had been sitting out for months (lol x2)... (I'd mentioned this before).

Spoiler:

It's been broken all this time sitting on curb and that spot of grass still hasn't been able to grow back (lol)... and I have to labor to flip it back up to put trash in before the day of pickup and then put it back upside down after pickup... not easy, I'm small and it's huge... but we have to leave it upside down and empty so they'll "hopefully" come fix it. I stopped flipping it upside down the past few weeks because I stopped caring, but we can't put anything in it outside of the day of pick up so yeah... means we have to find creative ways to store trash. It's great.

So he sends the update from the Trash People and we're like HAHAHAHA YES!...

This would've made more sense rather than waiting several months for some random person who is probably non-existent to come replace trashcans. They're supposed to have contractors come and switch them out, but they've had money issues I think. It's been so bad that when we call periodically to keep up our ticket, we get a rant from the operators about how stupid it is. They're so tired of it... so yeah, finally the City figured something out.

The not fun part is going to be taking a giant trashcan and traveling with it across town. I wonder if it'll even fit...

Also I didn't know we could have a 2nd trashcan... more dead grass, but there's benefits hmms...

Yeah once it’s done it’ll be good, but wasn’t an expense I wanted today.

Left a nozzle check behind at the local tech shop on their end cap like casually leaving a Jehovah's Witness pamphlet where everyone will see it... "There's a better path waiting for you... it's time to get cleansed..."

Very nice!

I don't know if the runners will grow crazy or not when it cools. I haven't paid that much attention to my grass post-summer in the past. I'm afraid to do anything too much because we're not completely cooled down enough yet so some of my grass is still dormant from August heat.

I don't have any flowers yet But that sounds really nice and so nice to that to look forward to. I don't think I've ever seen an olive tree in person. Our climate may not be ideal.

Soon I'm going to get the stuff to start edging/removing sod from around our Swamp Oak we have growing in the front yard. It needs a bit more breathing space, so plan to cut a big enough area so that I can plant other things in it as well as a small rock garden.

…the UK isn’t the ideal climate for olive trees either…they’re more Mediterranean climate lovers and thrive well in hot dry countries but so long as they don’t get too much water and are quite sheltered, they can do ok here ….but they don’t always fruit/flower, though …
