Royal Parks and RSPCA respond to Nigel Farage's claim that migrants are killing or eating swans…

Royal Parks has responded to claims made by Nigel Farage that migrants are killing and eating swans from their grounds.

The Reform UK leader was on Wednesday asked during an LBC phone-in about president Donald Trump’s unproven claim last year that Haitian immigrants in the US were eating cats and dogs, which he did not accept was unproven.

But Farage steered the conversation away to the UK, where he seemed to suggest that swans were being taken by migrants and used for food.

What has Royal Parks said?

London's Hyde Park, Greenwich Park and Richmond Park are among those the Royal Parks charity manages.

A spokesperson said the animals on their grounds are looked after and have received no reports about any of them being captured or killed.

They said: “We’ve not had any incidents reported to us of people killing or eating swans in London’s eight Royal Parks.

“Our wildlife officers work closely with the Swan Sanctuary to ensure the welfare of the swans across the parks.”

The RSPCA said a video recently posted online with the description “RSPCA worker catches migrants eating swans” was from a TV show broadcast in 2010.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “This clip involving an RSPCA officer featured in an episode of Animal Squad, previously broadcast in the UK as Emergency Animal Rescue, from 15 years ago – in 2010."


The footage was posted on X by the UK branch of Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point political organisation.

That’s just London …

Just because there isn’t any documented evidence available doesn’t mean it isn’t happening nationwide !!

These people are committing despicable offences, arguably far more serious ones than just killing swans - as disgusting as that is .

There’s a stunningly beauty spot near us where the tourist attraction are beautiful, huge brown and rainbow trout in the river flowing through the village .

There’s hundreds of them .. around 3’ / a metre in length and well fed as hundreds feed them each and every day off the numerous quaint little bridges dotted throughout the village ..

The fish are protected so fishing is prohibited within the village boundaries … that was until a year or so ago when the locals started seeing illegal immigrants taking the trout under the cover of darkness .. apparently some feel comfortable confronting the offenders but the majority are understandably very wary about tackling these people ..


So do I believe that some are taking Swans under the collar of darkness .. better believe it .. it’s more inconceivable that they wouldn’t be tempted to get free food with little chance of being caught

I am just listening to this story on the radio !!

Absolutely incredible what is happening to our once great country ( I for one can remember the old days) .

…I think that it’s probably a good plan to contact the RSPCA and ask any questions that require any accuracy of information as they’re who have said that this is a video taken out of context of a film made in 2010 and has no bearing on any claims from Nigel Farage…Royal Parks would also be a good point of enquiry as they have stated no reports of swans missing atm…

Everyone is scared of anything and everything nowadays .. this is where we are and it’s sad .


We were out and about in a little town in the NW one evening a while back and we were actually nervous/ scared walking back to our car - probably a 10 minute trek - there were loud and obnoxious, worse for wear tipsy people everywhere..


Fast forward to last week walking through the streets of Lindos, Rhodes well past midnight and feeling soooo relaxed and safe … three locals (sober) actually helped us find our apartment .. dragging our cases through the little narrow alleyways for us ..
