Prince Andrew is to give up his titles, including the Duke of York, he has announced in a personal statement.
He has been under increasing pressure for his links with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, with calls for the Palace to take action against him.
That now seems to have resulted in the prince deciding to voluntarily hand back his titles and to give up membership of the Order of the Garter.
Prince Andrew has faced a series of scandals, including a court case he settled with Virginia Giuffre, questions about his finances and his involvement with an alleged Chinese spy.
He will remain a prince - but will cease to be the Duke of York, a title received from his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth.

Being dodgy isn't crime or loads of people I, and probably you know would be in the Casa Grande. The late queen made him Duke of York on his marriage, so I guess the king can revoke it. He'll always be a prince though. And he's the one member of the royal family who is an actual war hero and doesn't just wear medals as a decoration, he earned them. I'm not a massive Andrew fan, and Fergie is a mess... But having someone who's never been arrested, let alone charged, punished because of public opinion and gossip makes me uncomfortable. I mean, Tony Blair hosted Epstein at No.10, who knows what their relationship was, but Blair still seems to be on track to be King of the Middle East. It's all rather one-sided and a bit muddy.
