We don't hear much about Fergie here in the US so most people have no idea all the scandals she is involved in. They would have to be avid tabloid readers and even then Royals don't always make the news long enough for it to be noticed.
Epstein is big news atm so probably they would want her input on that as it's another voice to add to the pile of US headlines.
