I was in Chicago this summer. There's a lot of people living well there, a great food and drink scene and loads of good music. There's also a load of junkies and people living rough (and yeah most of them black). I was getting the subway back from an evening out and there was a group of guys just passing round a crack pipe with no one batting an eye lid and no sign of any security or anything. I swapped carriages after a couple of stops because I thought I might get high off the fumes
