Name it, spread it, eat it. In-between quail-and-duck-fat musings with incorporated breadfruit-flour for refined, sourdough-competing tings, side-by-side duck-fat-glazed boule and some blueberries for a decadent Saturday-morning in Gateacre, Cheshire or Battersea, there’s a lot to be said for simple tart on bread. So what’s your flavour? Strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, redcurrant (to give off matching nominal vibes on a certain Redwood Road one Saturday), something-else altogether (marmalade, which is allowed - it’s close enough) or what?

I love all the fancy flavour jams (of course I do haha), but you can’t beat a good old Gooseberry jam.

I could probably do without apricot-conserve/jam. Not a fan of apricot even as a fresh fruit.

Does anyone have much experience with fruit-butter? I could probably do without cucumber-marmalade (mentioned recently on a T.V.-show and it’s just … yuck) but fruit-butter sounds interestingly quaint.

Soooooo
I love Strawberry Jam but being a perfectionist I wanted the best tasting ( to me obviously ) … So I borrowed a couple from my daughters and one from my friend next door ..then bought 3 completely different ones Anyways after doing blind taste tests ( half a teaspoonful of each) on probably the six most popular/commonly used Strawberry jams … ONE stood out from the crowd with it’s absolutely incredible taste !!! MACKAYS Strawberry Preserve !! In second place but a long way back there’s a Special mention for Duerr’s Strawberry Jam

If pubs haven’t gone out of fashion, I don’t see why jam should. What’s wrong with jam?
