Same for a lot of adults. Include myself in that. I’ve tried to be more conscious of my time on social media but found it’s so easy to get sucked in and get lost in it. I found it also started to impact and started making me question why I didn’t have certain things in my life instead of actually appreciate things I do have. I decided to cull most social media after that, as I really don’t need it.

Fair enough, and I'm glad for you on that, personally too many of us do get hooked on the Internet in general so it's a good thing when someone can break the habit.
But Social Media was largely designed around younger people using them, so no I still don't support the Australian Government being weirdos once again, by banning them off of Social Media instead of either telling the parents to use Parental Locks on their children's devices (I know, shocker lol) or tell these Social Media sites to actually Moderate their platform when it comes to certain content that children shouldn't be seeing.
But the Aussie Government doesn't want to do that because they want to control and spy on their people, and they use the "think of the children" argument or the "we're trying to stop the immigrants" to try and get people on side. It's basically the same evil manipulation that Trump and Starmer try when doing disgraceful policies that nobody asked for as a top priority, and benefits nobody long term.
