…actually I have my next read planned as well, I downloaded Love Untold by Ruth Jones who co-wrote Gavin and Stacey…it’s not about a romantic love, it’s about the mother/daughter bond and relationship…

Hiding her own dark past in plain sight, a TV reporter is determined to uncover the truth behind a gruesome murder decades after the investigation was abandoned. But TWENTY YEARS LATER, to understand the present, you need to listen to the past…

Avery Mason, host of American Events, knows the subjects that grab a TV audience’s attention. Her latest story—a murder mystery laced with kinky sex, tragedy, and betrayal—is guaranteed to be ratings gold. New DNA technology has allowed the New York medical examiner’s office to make its first successful identification of a 9/11 victim in years. The twist: the victim, Victoria Ford, had been accused of the gruesome murder of her married lover. In a chilling last phone call to her sister, Victoria begged her to prove her innocence.

Emma Kind has waited twenty years to put her sister to rest, but closure won’t be complete until she can clear Victoria’s name. Alone she’s had no luck, but she’s convinced that Avery’s connections and fame will help. Avery, hoping to negotiate a more lucrative network contract, goes into investigative overdrive. Victoria had been having an affair with a successful novelist, found hanging from the balcony of his Catskills mansion. The rope, the bedroom, and the entire crime scene was covered in Victoria’s DNA.

But the twisted puzzle of Victoria’s private life is just the beginning. And what Avery doesn't realize is that there are other players in the game who are interested in Avery’s own secret past—one she has kept hidden from both the network executives and her television audience. A secret she thought was dead and buried . . .

Accused of a brutal murder, Victoria Ford made a final chilling call from the North Tower on the morning of 9/11. Twenty years ago, no one listened. Today, you will.
This was good, it's the second one of his books I've read, they're good, nothing heavy, nice twisty, mystery styles books

Currently, waiting for this months Audible Credit to download the next installment of the Strike Series, I LOVE these books by JK Rowling

…I thought that it might be difficult to immediately absorb in a new story so quickly but it only took a page or two to absorb in this that I’m reading now…/…I’d recommend, it’s a good story so far…

Grady calls his wife as she’s driving home to share some exciting news. He hears Abby slam on the brakes, get out of the car, then nothing. When he eventually finds her car by a cliff edge, the headlights are on, the driver door is open, her phone is still there . . . but his wife has disappeared.

A year later, Grady is still overcome with grief and desperate to know what happened to Abby. He can’t sleep, and he can’t write, so he travels to a tiny Scottish island to try to get his life back on track. Then he sees the impossible: a woman who looks exactly like his missing wife.

Wives think their husbands will change, but they don’t.
Husbands think their wives won’t change, but they do.
…I’ve just finished reading this, it’s another excellent story… … @Niamh. …I think this is especially your type of story, Niamh and well worth looking at if you get the chance…

I'm nearing the end of Stephen King's IT. I was inspired to try it out again after rewatching the 90s miniseries. I've tried getting through it about two or three times before but always lost interest somewhere along the way. Same story with my attempts at reading his book The Stand. I'm hoping to finally finish that sometime soon, too.

Have you read The Dark Tower series? They're my favourite of his, 7 books obviously some better than others but it's a really good series

Oh The Stand is a great book but you have to persevere for a while as it slowly builds up.

Same if you ever read The Dark Tower series (my favourite books of all time). It starts quite slowly but it’s worth pushing on.

I read the first two and started on the third but I guess I wasn't in the mood for it at the time and gave up after about thirty pages or so. I had really enjoyed the first two though. I like dark fantasy, so they are the sort of things I would generally gravitate towards.

I've actually gotten very far into The Stand (much further than I ever did with IT those first few times), but some books are so long that when life gets in the way, you just put it down and can't find the strength or enthusiasm to pick it back up again for a long while. I've read most of King's books up until around the mid 2010s. The only ones I remember outright detesting were Needful Things, Cell, and Lisey's Story.

I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I really love ‘The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon’ by him.

I don't understand why it's not more popular, it's one of my favourites of his, and I've read just about everything he's ever written.

Same! I guess because it’s not his usual style of writing it gets overlooked.
