Women-pundits this, women-commentators that, Camilla-x. I really have tried to be patient with you more recently, Zizu, but you’re getting in your own way. You really don’t make it easy to just take you with a pinch of salt and walk away. Strong opinions are always going to warrant strong responses/pushback when those opinions are deeply and endlessly prejudiced. Your age and being autistic aren’t excuses. I absolutely love women … including women in the workplace … I just don’t appreciate having them pushed down our throats in some crazy box ticking exercise .. you talk like I am alone in this opinion but a quick look online or in any pub or bar will show you a different picture entirely ..



The female pundits play football at an extremely low standard and as such they are simply not qualified to criticise or critique the elite level premiership footballers.


Imagine the next Nasa rocket launch and the expert was a high school science teacher .. that’s where we are at …

He has no time for women unless he finds them attractive, that's my take. Being autistic isn't an acceptable excuse for being racist it shouldn't be an acceptable excuse for misogyny.

Agreed. But do the moderators actually do anything about his misogyny, by-and-large? Nope. So he gets away with it every day because he’s “vulnerable” and can’t help but talk sideways about women he doesn’t find sexy.

He made some very culturally dismissive comments re. people who may or may not look white but are actually some degree of mixed on another thread and kept putting up a wall of “I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about” even when he was offered the option of taking accountability privately rather than on the public forum. If I was bordering on anti-Semitic just-because me and you had gotten into a bit of a tiff, I’d want to know about it. Not knowing the full cultural weight in a way that could be stonewalled as “Not a clue what you’re talking about, sorry” would be all-the-more-reason to be called out, privately or otherwise, and get myself a bit more respectfully educated on your experiences. Being made excuses for would enable me more than it would actually help. But I’m afraid Zizu doesn’t do accountability online, privately or publicly. We all have to work with assumptions, and sometimes those assumptions can be overwhelmingly culturally monolithic to what we can extrapolate to indigenous Greater Manchester, but we don’t always know who we’re talking to, the range of their cultural layers and experiences (which may diverge quite sharply from our own), and that goes for the whitest of the white as well as Israeli-descended Jews, mixed race people of an order of quarters, eighths and thirds (it’s not always 50-50) from a city that has countless intergenerational seeds of mixture thanks to docks, captains and (on a more unsavoury note) their role in slavery, Chinese, black and Hispanic people alike.

He either doesn’t “have a clue what you’re talking about,” as-if that’s an excuse for wilful ignorance, or his autism is of such a nature that he has zero control over his actions on here. Never do you see Zizu say, ‘Maybe I was genuinely wrong/insensitive/overstepping delicate ground.’ He might not be the only person with such views on female pundits but the way he talks you’d think he was the only neurodivergent person on this planet. Millions, if not billions, of people on this planet are neurodivergent but they still respect the opposite sex.

I thought I could at-least try and be done with all-this but I just had to echo back your frustration here, because it’s real, valid and his behaviour unacceptable. He has capacity, and a choice. He just chooses not to own a word he says. Offering someone the chance to be corrected privately and being refused is also a huge tell. That undercuts any claim of good-faith innocence masked as oblivious, vulnerably-coded ignorance. More to the point of this thread, he’s not someone without decades of exposure to women as professionals, commentators and equals. He just believes they shouldn’t exist unless he finds them sexy. The fixation is a choice.

It’s an obsession that you shoehorn into the most random of threads and have done for as long as I can remember, and you seem unusually wound up by women’s football for someone who doesn’t have to watch it. You talk as-if you have no choice but to be subjugated to the “extremely low standard” of women’s football and have to complain about it every day.

I am delighted to say that the men in my life aren't anything like Zizu. They are all football fans, even my husband who's American and has become an honorary West Ham fan. Doesn't stop them supporting the women's game. I'm sure they're the norm.

There’s a lot of support in pubs for women’s football in Liverpool as-well, Liv., probably the most football-crazy city in the world. Zizu, as-usual, is just off on his own obsessional tangents that he can’t stop shoehorning into threads where they don’t belong. Notice his silence about everything-else on this thread, too. “I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about, are you vaping something?!” is not an acceptable response. It never was.

I’ve tried to overlook some of these things with Zizu because I can respect his general curiosity and he’s a person not inherently less deserving of humanity than anyone-else but half of his posts are toxic, misogynistic BS. And he just gets away with it in a way that he wouldn’t if it was racism, and even there he’s come close on at-least one or two occasions. Liking Stevie Wonder, black footballers and pretty mixed-race girls doesn’t mean that you can’t occasionally make comments below the line. No-one’s perfect. We all have things to learn. But Zizu doesn’t want to, because that would mean admitting that he’s not always the victim in his own narrative. We all like to be the good guy in our own books but we’re all capable of misjudging things and people, underestimating their experiences and causing offence, intentionally or not. What matters more is how we react when we’re (rightly) called out. It’s just common decency to account for them when they’re called out sincerely and not let pettiness get in the way. But, again, Zizu doesn’t do accountability in the virtual realm. He’s “innocent” and “vulnerable” no-matter what, and the rest of us have to just sit here and take it.
