Saw someone compare the recent ICE shooting to Tiananmen Square. Had a throwaway thought that you can tell how America's a relatively young country by how often its countrymen online compare their current events to much greater and more impactful moments throughout history. Not saying older and established countries like ours never do it from time to time (you only have to look at the amount of silly events whose titles we affix '-gate' to), but the propensity for Americans to do it seems way greater and more frequent. That's assuming they're not foreign bots trying to further sow division and distrust.

I've been watching clips on YouTube of the Steve Wilkos Show recently.

I do ponder how sex pests think that they're going to evade a lie detector test, plus trick an entire audience of people.

I derive a certain sick kind of amusement from the knowledge that I could very easily terrify friends and acquaintances with my list of grievances and just how wrathful I feel about them. It's a nice cope and counter to my annoyance at people assuming that because you're stoic and relatively chipper to their faces, that they can endlessly indulge in the process of bemoaning their lives and using it as a comparison with which to make unsupported insinuations and sly comments as to how good you have it and how you're doing well while they're struggling in some way or another, e.g., financially. So to keep the pin in the grenade, I momentarily entertain myself by imagining the shock and awe they might feel at the unrestrained pessimism, hatred and outright misanthropy I often feel about so many things.
