Agreed its populist slop for the uninitiated. Sad really but they were doing it in the 70s

I heard one of his new songs on the radio a few years ago .. they made a fuss about it being the first time played on UK radio

It immediately sounded so familiar that I Shazamed it presuming it was a cover …. it wasn’t

Said it before, she's who kids should look up to, not a Kardashian, or other worthless reality "stars". Her music isn't for everyone i know, and some of it is quite dull (wasn't overly impressed with her latest album), but i do like quite a few of her songs. Not really got a bad word to say about her. She seems like a genuinely good person.

She just makes music for teen girls, it doesn't need to be groundbreaking, it is what it is - and what is it? Very lucrative for her!

Strongest demographic is from 18 to 34. Big secondary group is 35 to 44.

Her demographic isn’t teens

I think that her Music started out for teens tbf.

But her fans have obviously grown up, so that would explain why most of her fanbase are in their 30's or 40's.

There is no denying she is uber successful and will leave an insane legacy behind. Fair play to her, she's worked her arse off evidently and she's also extremely generous with her wealth. However, she's a billionaire and sits alongside all other billionaires in having too much wealth. Not to mention her carbon footprint is ****ing gross.

I personally dislike the majority of her music, just not my personal taste and I personally think the fact she releases so many songs and albums in quick succession show how surface level a lot of them are. But that is just my opinion based on my own music taste.

Having said that, The Fate of Ophelia is a fantastic pop song, and I can't help but have The Man stuck in my head for days if I happen to hear it. She's obviously got talent of creating pop songs, they're just not my jam 99% of the time.

Default Taylor Swift made an album of 31 songs and they all sound like Samsung ringtones

She only writes a few of her songs herself ..

I saw a short documentary on her career and she normally co-writes with many of the best songwriting teams around

Money talks ..

she has the HIGHEST carbon footprint of any celeb

its actually worrying

Her private jet usage amounted to an estimated 8,300 tonnes of carbon
emissions in 2022 – that’s about 1,800 times the average human’s annual
emissions, or 576 times that of the average American and about 1,000 times
that of the average European.

where is Greta?

She doesn't. We’ve had this discussion before. She writes all of her songs before she goes into the studio where they are defined and recorded.

Here is what the evidence says about Taylor Swift and songwriting:

Taylor Swift writes her own songs. She has writing credit on every song she has released. Most have her name as a songwriter on official credits.

• Many songs are co-written with others like Jack Antonoff, Aaron Dessner, Max Martin. That is common in pop music. But her lyrical and melodic ideas are real and credited.

• In some cases she wrote entire albums solo. For example, Speak Now was written only by her.

• Taylor herself has publicly rejected claims she doesn’t write her music, saying she writes all her songs and that it is false to say otherwise.

• Some artists and collaborators defend her writing process, saying her creative role is significant and hands-on.

Claims like “she doesn’t write her own songs at all” ignore the official credits and her own statements.

In simple terms:
• You can trust that Swift writes or co-writes her songs.
• She is not a pop puppet with ghostwriters doing the work.
Co-writing does not mean she didn’t write anything. It means she worked with others on parts of the song.

Hadn't thought of you in a long time
But you keep sending me funny valentines
And I know you think it comes off vicious
But it's precious, adorable
Like a toy chihuahua barking at me from a tiny purse
That's how much it hurts
How many times has your boyfriend said
"Why are we always talking 'bout her?"
