Water companies have just increased everyone's bills. How do they justify themselves with a straight face?

Third time six weeks. We were without water for 8 days in December, then last week a couple days, now again today. Our local MP Mike Martin is going to war with South East Water as a result of this debacle.

Oh and when it did come back in December it wasn't drinkable for a week, we were told we had to boil it before use.

Got £680 compensation on the way though, so that's something i guess.

…and in Sussex as well as Kent apparently…water costs are so high for the user but there is obviously a lack of investment of those fees going back into the service for the public…compensation is not what households need, they need these issues invested in so this is not where they’re at…

Yes, they do the bare minimum and always have. I mean, it's different for different parts of the county, but the tap water where im at is barely drinkable as it is, always has to be put through a filter first, has such a unpleasant chemical like taste. And, for the past 5 years or so, the water pressure has always been quite low. It takes about 20 minutes for the bath to fill up, and that was before all this mess.

…yeah I lived in Sussex for many years and I do recall the chemical taste from the tap water there, it’s particularly bad in your part of the country, I agree…it seems that we’re paying for profits and not water quality which has become progressively worse over time, I feel…
