I don't know why we are talking about racism and homophobia in a thread about pronouns but thats TiBB for you, correct me if I am wrong but you don't need to be gay to identify as non binary, is that correct, it has nothing to do with sexuality but more how you see your place in the world?

You are right, they are two separate things.

I bought up bigotry in general displayed by someone who demands respect because they're old. I just wanted to use it as a reason why people wouldn't respect someone who displays such attitudes even if they are 40 years older... and I guess it spiralled from there.

Oh? I thought that's what we were doing...

You earn respect, it's not just given out. So the way they are towards other groups, like women or your average working man earns them the respect they deserve.
