Remembering Kerry
|
Why is anyone now surprised at anything this despicable man Trump says.
He's insulting, vicious, greedy, power mad with a ridiculously over inflated ego. He's really unhinged, cannot be relied on and certainly not to be trusted. His comments are unacceptable and inappropriate almost on every issue. Being as threatening and dangerous as he is with his thinking, even thinking of dealing with such a more like madman is not wise at all. Last edited by joeysteele; Yesterday at 06:42 AM. |

Is it me (oh and it could be) or Starmer doesn't seem to do or say very much to begin with? I don't obviously get very much news about him in the US, but it's hard to get a good impression of him...

He was showing signs of Dementia at the last election.

President Trump
has now paid tribute to British Soldiers [Donald Trump has paid tribute to the "very brave" British soldiers who served in Afghanistan - after claiming non-US troops had not been near the frontline. On Truth Social, he said they "were among the greatest of all warriors" as he acknowledged the 457 Britons who died and many who were "badly injured".] https://news.sky.com/story/trump-pay...istan-13498256 |

Every time someone tries to look tough on the world stage, it pushes us closer to a fight nobody actually wants. And Europe isn’t powerless. Some people in Washington talk as if Europe has no influence, but that’s simply not true.
If Europe really wanted to send a message, it could tell the US to close a few bases, bring its troops home, and manage the logistics on its own. That alone would force a rethink. It wouldn’t even be a major blow — many of those bases mainly support operations in the Middle East — but the threat itself would be enough to make Washington reconsider its tough‑guy approach. Meanwhile, you can picture Putin watching all of this and realising he doesn’t need to do anything. The alliances he’s tried to weaken for years are wobbling because of internal arguments, not because of anything he’s doing. And yes, it’s a risky moment. We’re getting close to a point where neither side feels able to step back, and that’s when small mistakes can turn into big problems. At the same time, it has the feel of another short‑lived distraction. In a week, the world might be focused on something completely different — that’s how things go now, one outrage after another. But the real concern is the unpredictability at the top. When the person with the biggest platform keeps throwing out surprises, it’s impossible to know what the next day will bring.

The rest of the world is dumping american bonds. Within a short time, it will force congress to actually do something before the country goes bust. If they dont, the dollar will crash and no longer be the world reference currency. At that point, the euro will take over. Power will shift to europe. At that point, it's anyone's guess what happens next

It shows us the magnitude of how awful his comments were though that he had to basically back down.
