Flag shagger.

I mostly remember him replacing Mo Mowlam as Northern Ireland secretary around the time of the Good Friday Agreement. She was described as having the respect of both sides. He was described as arrogant and insecure.

The government’s climbdown this afternoon has consequences.
Firstly it means that senior MPs and peers on the Intelligence and Security Committee will see the documents the government deems prejudicial to national security and international relations. That committee can decide to publish reports, although the security services can request sensitive information is redacted. More immediately there are consequences for the prime minister’s authority. An amendment the government tabled has had to be changed because Labour MPs – including most notably Angela Rayner – made it clear they would not support it. Sir Keir Starmer’s ability to control his own party was already weakened. Now some MPs are asking whether it is more permanently damaged. |

no .... as someone said .... there is no law against attending a party. The fact we all know other things went on, is not proof that individuals were directly involved.

Just because someone hangs out with a criminal doesn't make one guilty of the same crime. They can't frame an entire trial from a slideshow of pictures as that would easily be dismantled by a defense lawyer. A judge would probably think it isn't enough for a jury during the early phase.
