Nancy Guthrie's home swept again as authorities investigate new message


Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie -- the 84-year-old mother of NBC "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie -- was forcibly taken from her home in Tucson, Ariz., though no suspects or persons of interests have been identified. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said Thursday that "everybody is still a suspect in our eyes" as the investigation continues.

Investigators laid out a timeline of events at a press conference Thursday. Nancy Guthrie was dropped off at her home on Saturday, Jan. 31 at approximately 9:48 p.m. after dinner with family. The doorbell camera disconnected at 1:47 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1, and at 2:12 a.m., software detected a person on camera, but no video was available. At 2:28 a.m., Nancy's pacemaker app disconnected from the phone, authorities said.

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information on Guthrie's disappearance and are vetting ransom notes. At least one person has been arrested in connection to an "imposter ransom demand."

The sheriff said blood found on the porch was tested and DNA analysis found it belonged to Nancy.

Nancy Guthrie's son, Camron Guthrie, made a new video appeal on Thursday to his mother's potential captors, pleading with them to make contact with the family. He said the family hadn't "heard anything directly" and added, "Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from you."

…I read that bitcoin was highly traceable currency which also feels odd if that’s true…the main thing is though, is that Nancy Guthrie is safe and returned back to her life and her family…I so hope that happens very soon…

…yeah I think it’s around 1.30am atm so not many hours until the deadline …the New York Times has reported that the demand I’d for 6 million dollars bitcoin and the family have said that they’ll pay it…
