Gammon is aimed at a stereotype of behaviour and political ranting. The insult is about how someone is acting. Calling a Black person black pudding only works as an insult because of their race. The race is the punchline. That’s the difference.

You keep acting like mentioning skin colour and targeting someone’s race are the same thing. They aren’t. One is mocking behaviour people choose. The other is mocking something they can’t change.

I would say, when referring to joshua. The pudding is the main take from the meaning of him being hopeless, not his skin colour ..ie, useless at staying on his feat.

If you need to use someone’s race to identify who you’re insulting, that’s kind of the point.

Adding black isn’t necessary unless the race reference is part of the insult.
