Religious freedom means everyone’s traditions get acknowledged, not just the ones you personally approve of.

Exclamation

Arshad Khatana has the most abhorrent and shocking views.

So why has Rachel Reeves been “friends” with this fanatic for over a decade?

Why, as Chancellor, is she going round his house for lunch?

^^^ Shocking. Not that shocking though. It feels like Labour honour Muslim terrorists continuously. We're being led by the nose toward Islamification and if you don't like it, you're a Nazi.

lol do you actually believe that, I recall when Tim Farron had to step down as leader of the Lib Dems due to his beliefs, and he is not the only person to have lost their job due to their beliefs

You keep saying Islamification. What actual UK laws have changed to bring in Islamic law? Which policies have replaced British law?

A Muslim politician existing isn’t Sharia. Going to someone’s house for lunch isn’t rewriting the legal system.

So what’s changed in law or governance, specifically? Or is this just discomfort with Muslims being visible in public life?

When youve got british police standing in Whitechapel telling British white men to move elsewhere because it's a muslim area...then you don't need the laws to have changed for them to be changed.

Ps, nothing to do with the UKIP march.

, the legal and policy framework in the UK has adapted in several ways to accommodate the growing Muslim population, alongside general, broader changes in UK law regarding equality, discrimination, and religious, cultural, and human rights. These changes include the introduction of anti-discrimination laws based on religion, the recognition of Sharia-compliant financial products, and the strengthening of laws to combat hate crime.

Here are specific areas where laws or policies have evolved:
Anti-Discrimination and Equality Legislation (2003, 2006, 2010): Following the implementation of EU directives, the UK introduced the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003, which prohibited discrimination based on religion or belief in employment and vocational training. This was later expanded and strengthened by the Equality Act 2010, which treats religion or belief as a "protected characteristic".
Protection Against Religious Hatred: Legislation was widened to include religious hatred, placing faith communities on a more equal footing with racial groups regarding protection under the law. This has been accompanied by increased, record-level funding to protect mosques, Islamic schools, and community centers from hate crimes.
Sharia-Compliant Finance: Changes in regulation, particularly under the Labour government in the 2000s, were designed to accommodate Islamic finance, such as the introduction of "Islamic mortgages" (Ijara mortgages) to avoid double stamp duty, allowing for Sharia-compliant home ownership.
Voluntary Sharia Councils/Arbitration: While Sharia law has no legal status in the UK, the Arbitration Act 1996 allows for binding arbitration, which some councils use to settle civil disputes (like divorce) between consenting adults. However, a 2018 review noted that many couples do not register their marriage legally, leading to calls for mandatory civil registration to protect women's rights in divorce.
Workplace Accommodations: The law requires "reasonable" religious accommodation in the workplace (e.g., time for prayer, prayer rooms), which has become common in both public and private sectors.
GOV.UK
GOV.UK

Key Distinctions:
No Parallel Legal System: The UK government maintains that Sharia law is not recognized as a formal legal system within the UK, and it holds no legal jurisdiction over English law.
Increased Restrictions on Immigration: While there has been accommodation of religious practices, there has also been a significant, independent trend towards stricter immigration and asylum rules, including the "earned settlement" model announced in 2025, which affects all migrants, including those from Muslim-majority countries

You’ve just listed anti-discrimination laws, mortgage rules and voluntary arbitration that still sit under UK law.

None of that replaces British law with Sharia. The courts are still secular. Parliament is still in charge. Sharia has no legal authority here.

So where exactly is the Islamification? Protecting religious groups and allowing different finance products isn’t the country being taken over.

FGM has been illegal for decades and is prosecuted under UK law. That proves the legal system isn’t bending to religious practices. It proves the opposite.

You haven’t shown Islamic law governing the UK. You’ve shown a secular system accommodating religious freedom.

Laws being amended isn’t the same as Islamic law replacing UK law. Parliament amends laws all the time.

And FGM is illegal and has been for decades. There have been prosecutions and convictions. If enforcement is patchy, that’s a policing issue, not proof of Islamification.

Post a link to a conviction of it in England or Wales please....cause it's my understanding there's been none.
