[Britney Spears has spent the night
in custody after being arrested.
The star was detained by highway patrol officers
at 9.28pm on Wednesday and released at 6.07am,
according to Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
Its online records give Spears' height as 5ft 5ins,
weight as 125lbs (8st 13lbs) and her occupation as "celebrity".
She has been scheduled to appear in court on 4 May.
Various US media reports say she was arrested
on suspicion of driving under the
influence in California.

Her representative said after the news emerged
that her arrest was "completely inexcusable"
and the incident "can be the first step in long
overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life".

The representative said that Spears' "boys" are going to spend time with her. She has two adult sons with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

"Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being," the representative added. The statement also did not indicate why she was arrested.


….maybe not having access to spending time with the children may also have an impact on her mental well-being and health, I hope that she can work it out with the family to spend more time together…

I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it on here, but I once saw Britney Jean Spears in a nightclub in Amsterdam around 2002, and she was clearly off her box. So when everything later unravelled and the public “breakdown” moment happened, some of us weren’t exactly surprised. She’s a very troubled person and has been for years.

And before anyone asks what I was getting up to that night… I’ll have to plead the Fifth.

…I read that both of her sons have reached out to her and extended their support since the arrest…it would be good to think that something positive could come and that this could lead to any estrangements leading to strengthening relationships again…but as GiRTh has said, I fear that her mental health is something that’s quite complex and long standing and will require much support from sources outside of the family as well…whether this incident can lead to that help, it’s impossible to know right now…but Britney’s own mental health aside, driving under the influence and others could have been hurt or worse…?…not good at all…
