Schools get bombed during wars. In WW2 a school full of kids waiting to be evacuated in Canning Town was bombed by the Germans, everyone died. A Copenhagen school was bombed by the RAF after being mistaken for Gestapo HQ. 120 people were killed including 90 kids. That's just 2 out of many. These are terrible things that happen in war. It is not unique to Donald Trump.

Yeah, it was ever thus.

Thing is, when Muslim extremists target schools and nurseries, they call it strategy. And they're almost always funded, equipped or trained - sometimes all three - by Iran. When one of their own schools is hit, they call it a war crime. Don't get me wrong, in no way do I support targeting schools, ever. But it's something both sides are guilty of, but only one side does it on purpose.

Exactly — what was the point of going to war in the first place? None of the explanations we’ve been fed make any real sense. If the goal was to - change Iran’s leadership - then we’re talking about a scenario that would come with massive casualties on all sides, and anyone pretending otherwise is lying to themselves. There’s no clean, surgical way to topple a government of that size and influence.

What it does look like is the U.S. getting dragged into something it didn’t fully control. Whether that was pressure from Netanyahu or just Washington overestimating its own leverage, the end result is the same: they’ve walked straight into a conflict that’s already expanding faster than they can contain it. And now we’re seeing outside players — including Putin — stepping in to support Iran, which only widens the whole mess.

The U.S. keeps insisting the situation is “nearly over,” but that’s pure fantasy. In barely a week the conflict has already grown beyond anything they can manage, and the people making these statements know it. They’re just hoping the public doesn’t notice how badly they’ve miscalculated.
