Freedom is within their graspThat's A Wrap
Day 17, 14:20

The task has finished and Big Brother has asked Housemates to come out of their boxes. But the three winners don't believe it.

Big Brother's tricks and temptations have made the Housemates slightly paranoid. They simply don't believe that the task is over, preferring to stay in their boxes thank you very much.

"For unsurpassed commitment to living in a box, living in a cardboard box. For stamina above and beyond the call of duty and for stamina, the likes of which has never been witnessed in the Big Brother House. Anthony, Derek and Roberto, Big Brother salutes you. You are all winners."

"You may now leave your boxes," Big Brother told the boys. "This is NOT a giraffe."

These Housemates just won't quit"I'm not sure, guys," Roberto said uncertainly.

"They could be tricking you," Makosi said, she went to the Diary Room to check with Big Brother.

Unfortunately, Makosi ended up crying because she's so gutted about quitting the task just a couple of hours before and missing out on the prize.

Meanwhile Derek, Anthony and Roberto waited nervously in their boxes.

Freedom!
Day 17, 14:30

After nearly 27 hours inside their boxes, the three winning Housemates have finally broken free, despite fears that they could lose everything.

Big Brother reiterated that the task was over and once again asked Housemates to leave their boxes.

But even this wasn't enough to convince the suspicious threesome.

Anthony suggested getting the Housemates to pull the boxes off for them, but Derek made it clear that he didn't trust the others to play fair.

"If we do decide to come out, we'll do it ourselves and all at the same time," Derek told his fellow captives.

"It's for the three of us to agree between ourselves to agree what we choose now to do. Even if we are disqualified we will be seen as honourable men. And that is more important than winning," Derek gave a rousing victory speech.

Gimme some skin!!!"On the count of five we will take our boxes off. I will count," Derek said.

And count he did. On five, Roberto and Derek threw off their boxes, as would have Anthony had Maxwell not been leaning on top of his.

The free three jumped around, celebrating their win. Roberto, Derek and Anthony will eat like kings for three nights with luxury three course meals and a fridge stocked with goodies.

Meanwhile, others side-stepped round the bottles of unidentified yellow liquid that had also been revealed from inside the boxes.

Yes, it was wee. Urg.

Winners' Story
Day 17, 15:45

Big Brother has been quizzing Roberto, Derek and Anthony about what 27 hours of living in a box is like.

Derek claims he enjoyed the experience. "It was pleasant away from people," he said. "I had nowhere else to go."

He enjoyed the opportunity to eavesdrop on his Housemates and was surprised at how quickly they forgot the boxes were there. "I listened a lot," he said with a knowing look.

When quizzed about strategy the three said their approach had been very similar.

"It was just a question of sportsmanship," Derek said. Roberto also thought it was his sports mentality that saw him through.

"I was determined to stay 'til the end," Anthony said.

They also agreed that the best part of living in a box was hearing that they could get out.

"It was pleasant away from people" The noble winners would like to share their prize of luxury food with the other Housemates, but Big Brother has expressly forbidden this. If any of the other Housemates eat the prize food, it will instantly be withdrawn.

"I wanted to give my prize to Makosi to make up for rudeness," Roberto said, disappointed that he would not be able to make this gesture of peace.

"I was amazed by Makosi, she has proved that she is strong," he said.

Out in the living area the three explained that they would not be able to share the food.

"Honestly you've so got to eat it," Saskia told them. "Next week we could win something," she said.

Gourmet dinner for three then!

Thats a lot of time to spend in a box. They deserve their reward, I bet Makosi is gutted that she was only a few hours away from getting the reward.

Derek's Dud Dinner
Day 17, 17:45

Derek was thoroughly unimpressed by Big Brother's culinary offering this evening.

The rest of the group were forced to sit on the sidelines and salivate while the winners of the box task - Roberto, Anthony and Derek - tucked into a luxury meal.

After a quartet of Italian appetizers, Roberto and Derek were presented with a main course of sea bass with tomato and chilli, while Anthony helped himself to a hearty steak with peppercorn sauce.

Roberto and Anthony were both thrilled by the treat, with the Italian giving his stamp of approval to the tiramisu.

Anthony's happy enough to tuck inHowever, Derek was severely disappointed with Big Brother's efforts. "They need to find a better chef," he grumbled. "It's not at all worth winning."

Noticing that the plates were cold, the fastidious Tory scoffed, "They have no idea about decorum. They've obviously never thrown a dinner party before."

He then refused to eat the grub until it had been re-heated in the oven.

Watch out Derek. Big Brother giveth, but Big Brother can taketh away!
