Last nights show confirmed my suspicions even further. Why did we not get to see Maxwell taunting Eugene before the nominations were being announced about what it's going to be like to be up for nominations and what would he miss from the house, etc, etc. Instead, we only hear Orlaith relating it back to the girls. That way we only see the girls talking about it, which just then appears to the viewing public to be more bitching from this lot. It would have much more impact if we had seen Maxwell's nasty, smug little face winding up Eugene. But oh no, BB don't show that cos they want Maxwell to be saved.

And this has happened before, where we only hear what someone has done rather than being shown it. Obviously lessens the impact of the act. Happened with Science taking the wine. Team Saskia (as it then was) objected cos there was some agreement reached that they could have the wine. Why didn't we get to see this alleged agreement? I suspect cos the agreement wasn't quite what Team Saski made it to be and by not showing what really happened, it makes Science look like the unreasonable one, who stole the wine. This kind of c**p from BB annoys me. They don't show us all the stuff that goes on, and I would agree with whoever said in another thread that there should be an extended highlights show, possibly giving a more balanced view of the house, but it's unlikely to happen as BB like to manipulate us just as much as they manipulate the housemates.

The final shot in last nights show, of Maxwell bathed in light in the shower, while Science stands in the darkness, glowering and looking like some kind of evil demon was clearly choosen by BB to leave the viewers with that subconcious image of Maxwell = good, Science = bad. And then the numbers for eviction are shown.

Maybe I'm being too paranoid and reading too much into these things, but at times it annoys me to feel like I'm being manipulated by the increasingly omnipresent Big Bro.
Well said - pretty much what I wanted to say, but you have put it much better than I could have done.

I noticed how they showed Maxwell trying to make Eugene feel better in the diary room - but they didn't show how he had been taunting him beforehand.

Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinions of all the housemates, but some of Maxwell's fans seem to think that he can do no wrong! Everybody does stuff that's not nice - it's part of human nature. Science is my favourite housemate, but I posted that I thought it was really bad of him to throw water at Kemal. I also thought it was totally wrong of Roberto to throw food over Maxwell (even though I liked Roberto and I don't like Maxwell at all), but I like these housemates, not because they're perfect, because nobody is perfect, but because of the people that they are. But sometimes it's as if whatever maxwell does is wonderful, and if he does anything that isn't wonderful, there's always an excuse for it.

But everyone thinks that baout their favourites really. If you love someone in the house you aren't going to pay any attention and point out their bad sides,do ya get me?lol I don't know if I am making sense.

Like people get so drawn in being a fan of someone that they can't actually see housemate x doing anything wrong and even if they did they wouldn't be shouting about it because they want them to win at the end of the day.

I take your point Lance, but as I've said, my favourite housemates are Roberto and Science, and I said when I thought they had done something wrong. I don't expect people to be perfect, because nobody is (and I'm FAR from perfect, believe me), but it does seem as if Maxwell can no no wrong whatsoever. As much as I like Science, I'm the first one to admit that he can be loud and hot headed, but I like him anyway, because he is a decent and honest person.

No offence to Maxwell fans - just saying the way I see things, that's all.

Yeah totally Ruth I get ya.And I am the first to admit that Makosi sometimes over does stuff and can bitch a lot.

But if it comes to some fans their favourites are angels who do no wrong...ever.

I was just thinking there aswell about this whole scam thing, and I know I don't think that BB has that much of an influence on voting, but the housemate pictures could even ne interpreted that way.

Like if you look at them all you can get a look at each personality straight away. You can see Maxwell is a fun guy,Ant is a poser,Makosi is a diva,Vanessa is "fun" and "crazy",Kemal is a diva,Lesley's a bitch etc...

That hadn't occurred to me, but you're absolutely right.
