They needed to show the noms to reveal who was up and then give time for voting, so one show wouldn't have worked, and they couldn't show the first part of highlights earlier than 9 because of the watershed aswell as obvious scheduling issues.

I didnt watch the early show, but didnt the voting stop at the end of that show anyway. And the earlier show was at 8pm tonight, unless you were watching on C4 +1 I guess...
