His point was that the HMs are dull and have done sod all for 6 weeks, but suddenly made a pathetic attempt
just today because they got shown up by the vastly superior HMs.
He might be boring, but he realises just
who has star quality (Nikki, Brian, etc) and who hasn't (the other HMs and probs himself too).
