nope no pity for this guy,in my humble opinion he is doing the very thing he accused sree of doing, sree got no such pity and as such marcus knows exactly what he is doing, the only reason he is taking it to the next step,is because the legend that is rex told him keep on with noirin lmao that was utter genius and made my day for sure..

I shivered when i heard marcus utter them words. How effing childish can one 'hardman' get. That is no way for an adult to behave, although it did make me laugh when it cut to tom and he was asleep, so if they did do it, it would have no effect

I think Marcus is just smitten with Noirin and she's probably (one of) the first girl(s) that has ever gotten past his rather extraordinary looks, given him a chance and actually listened to what he has to say. This has allowed him to open up with her and establish a very strong trust in her such that he drops his macho man persona and tells her his true feelings. It seems like his distrust of Tom is just a defense mechanism because if Noirin starts to direct her attention to Tom, Marcus will be virtually left alone in the house without anyone to talk to. It also seems like Marcus is trying to protect Noirin from being hurt, regardless of whether or not he thinks he has a chance with her. I think the piggy-back and kiss suggestion was, in his mind, less for him than it was to protect her by making it appear to Tom that she was already taken so he wouldn't even bother with her.
On the other hand, Noirin has been completely honest with Marcus while being careful not to completely break his heart. This is probably for two reasons. Noirin has, by befriending Marcus and spending so much time with him, alienated herself from the other housemates to an extent, knowing this she needs to preserve this relationship as Marcus is the only one she can really turn to when she needs to talk. Second, she knows that Marcus's constant sex-related comments and macho behavior are a facade and not the true Marcus which the other housemates never put the effort into discovering. As a result, she feels as if alienating Marcus further from the group would be a rather serious emotional blow for him, especially after he's trusted her enough to open up and show his true self. Noirin has even gone so far as to say that she feels like she doesn't know herself anymore after entering the house, befriending Marcus and questioning all of the superficial preconceived notions she had lived by up to that point. Do I think Marcus and Noirin will be good friends outside of the house? Not likely. While Marcus probably hopes, and maybe expects, that they will keep in close contact, I suspect that Noirin has a close network of friends that she can confide in and their presence back in her life will lessen her need for Marcus and he will fall by the wayside. In addition, the very superficial qualities that she had questioned (physical features) will allow her to stay in the limelight and attain further celebrity status, leaving little or no time for the less marketable Marucs. As a result Marcus will reerect his barriers and use his macho persona to convince himself that he isn't bothered. The friendship has a slight chance of surviving, but only if Noirin's crisis of conscience stays fresh in her mind and she makes a concerted effort to maintain the relationship. |

I think Marcus is great but he was acting like a pathetic kid last night.
Tom is clearly alpha male in this situation and he is not even trying to be. He is much fitter and better looking than Marcus and he'd be a more suitable partner for Noirin. Instead of confronting Tom about the issues Marcus has with him, he stays quiet and sulky when he is around, then as soon as he leaves the area, Marcus bitches about him. That is beta male behaviour. Tom, on the other hand, confronted and challenged Siavash when he accused him of stealing Lisa's booze. He took it head on and Siavash apologised. This is alpha male behaviour. Marcus has not even given Tom a chance. He thinks the other new HMs are wonderful, except this guy when he hasn't said a bad word about anyone. He recognised competition as soon as he saw him. Now he is trying to influence Noirin's opinion of him in hopes that she'll form a negative opinion of him as well. |
