If you work in politics you'd generally be with educated people, I'd hazard a guess that the vast majority of the BNP and people who think he came across well aren't.

You have a point. Although, as for educated people being in politics... I have to say - without prejudice - since I have been working in politics I have met some of the shadiest, most underhanded and obnoxious bigots it has ever been my misfortune to meet. They're all basically in it for themselves. Politics is show business for ugly people.
