His performances are over dramatic and he takes himself too seriously - which I think puts people off. The general public like a bit of humble pie.

That said - he is one of the better singers - and this is supposed to be a talent contest, not a popularity contest.

People do tend to vote for who they like and who they feel sorry for - and although understandable - is a very unfair way of voting in a talent contest.
