Same with me. I have total album fetish and usually frequent the local alternative record store. It's a shame this generation has no concept of the romanticism involved with record stores and albums. To be fair, most conventional albums are not worth buying - lazy all over - but in the old days buying a record was about saving up, queuing up, putting it in the player, admiring the lyrics booklet and admiring all the associated artwork, front cover etc.

Then you listen to your album the whole way through on a pair of headphones and admire all the small nuances and ponder on the making of it. And because you have done so, you can actually have intelligent debates about artists and there albums past ''I really love that song on that ad!''.

Now it's just downloading instant hit satisfaction in the form of a couple of bytes of sound. Wheres the satisfaction in that?

We have the technology to fix all that anyway. Hearing aids should be practically invisible and possibly implanted when us sort are collecting pensions!

I love rooting through second hand music shops/markets/record fairs etc. I still have loads of vinyl in various formats. Clear vinyl and picture discs etc. I used to scour Record Collector magazine to get hard to find records and use the larger music stores for imports. I still buy Cd's and digi pack formats are great with booklets. I even used to go as far as getting some of the promo posters for albums/12" singles and still have some massive 60"x40" ones from the 80's. I used to be quite obsessive with some artists.

Only since 1992 really though.
She had one album out in the late 80's but that was a major fail (I have it though haha).
But, I never really considered myself a superfan of hers until I read the others.
Lol, add 14 more to that 500+.
She has a new album out on the 16th haha.

I knew she was prolific enough but how did you manage to get your hands on that amount of songs? Wouldn't have thought she'd released that many.

She has her own recording studio attached to her house in Cornwall.
So she's ALWAYS releasing albums and writing songs.
She released one in May, and her new one wll be out on the 16th like I said. The album in May had 19 tracks.
Her album last year had 23 tracks.
All in all, since 2001, she's had atleast one album out per year. Then there's all her stuff pre 2001.
So it's easy that I have 500+ at this stage.

She's always been such a workhorse I guess, but as she always says that her songs just come to her, like as if she had nothing to do with it.
She probably has 500 unreleased tracks easy at this stage.
And it's weird because her unreleased songs are always her best ones.
You can get a lot of her unreleased stuff here http://www.hereinmyhead.com/sounds/ even though it hasn't been updated in ages.

Then she has all her covers, b-sides, remixes and songs she wrote for different movies like "Great Expectations" and "Mona Lisa Smile" etc.

I think generally if people pay good money for albums then yes, they actually listen to them.
