I personally dont agree with it, at a cetain age. I think kids gets sex education way too young these days. imo it encourages people to have sex at ridiculous ages like 11 and 12. I think it should start much later than they do it these days.

A class consisting of teaching that abstinence is the only fool-proof method is not teaching about conception. I'm not saying that we shouldn't teach abstinence, but we should teach it alongside methods of protection too, if we just teach abstinence then when they do eventually have sex (whether it's within a marriage or before) - they may not be completely clued up about protection. This isn't just about people wearing purity rings, I mean all young people aren't taught properly.

And I agree people are taught it too early, but now the damage has been done that people are having sex at the age of 13 - we need to teach protection too. I don't think being taught at such a young age -encourages- sex, I think the media does that (shows like hollyoaks, eastenders, the oc or whatever - im not very up to date on modern shows lol).

Abstinence isn't something you can teach as gospel; let every individual make their own decisions in life. I'm still a virgin at 18 years old, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. What if a person doesn't get married? I think the concept is romantic and all, but in real life, if you spend your life preserving yourself for 'the one', who's to say things will stay that way? We don't know how our lives will pan out.

Plus the whole concept of 'the one' is insane to begin with. I do believe in love. Deep, spiritual, passionate love, and all that. But I believe it can occur with literally thousands of individuals who suit you both mentally and physically.
