its a tough job but some mums aren't probably as easy going as you Niamh
and a smack is a easy way out of it

A little smack on the back of the legs or the bum is fine.

Smack my puppy when he tries to bite like visciously not just playing.
It works (obviously i donthi him hard)

until he gets big and bites you in the neck

dogs have to be trained so a smack is needed

I have 2 dogs and 2 kids, I treat them very differently!!

No you don't. Dogs are dogs and children are children.

The whole 'giving them a little tap' thing too is ludicrously misguided. If your not actually going to hurt your children, what's the point in slapping them? I know that sounds rather odd, but really, what good does it do if the child actually knows that there really isn't any actual threat of violence?

It will just aggravate the kid and turn the little thing into an even more temperamental brat, who will more than likely hit out at you in the future because that's the way it was raised!

Obviously there are a lot of differences but the ones i named..
Thing is i dont have a kid so i woudlnt really know. But if i was to have one now thats how id do it.

I was smacked as a child and i wasnt a brat i just shut up when it happened.
and id never hit my parents and same with my brother and counsins and most of my friends so that theory of that they are more likely to hit you goes out the window.

Yes, but I don't think you weren't a brat just because of being smacked. You probably weren't a brat because you had parents who disciplined you and I'm sure if they had choosen to discipline you a different way, that probably would have worked equally as well!

I believe its still a thing you should be able to do if you choose to.
I think it helped towards me not being a little brat.

Err no, it's pretty much a parental fact of life. One instance involving your own personal life can't disprove a whole theory

You never know though you might change your mind about the smacking thing when you actually have your own child. They look to you for protection and are so defencless
