Money can't make you happy if you're not already happy but it can help to take away everyday worries like paying bills and enable you to do things that you might not have been able to do otherwise which would make you happier!!!

Obviously, but in this debate it's about the aquisition of a huge amount of wealth that goes beyond mere comfort so it throws other issues into play, like when is enough enough and what's the motivation behind this obsession with material gain. I think it's important to stress that if money is so important to some for happiness, what happens when that wealth is finally theres? What replaces that need in their lives? Sorry, I just find it fascinating.

Oh I know I'm a material guy, and quite a spoilt one too, but hey, each one has its vice.
But with all the money of the world, you still can tell people you love them. Why does money have to prevent people from being happy and telling each other their feelings ? That's in people's head really.
Rich people who are unhappy didn't handle all this stuff well.

well, for me, it would mean I could give up my job, spend more time with my family and travel a whole lot more.

I wouldn't push the button though cos it's not worth taking someones life for.

Yep, but you've got the loved ones all sorted out, don't you darling. hee hee. But that brings it's own problems too, with people dragging out of you for handouts and your children might get spoilt and materialistic. Humans have this amazing ability to create problems in whatever enviroment they settle in.

Good question, and I dont think nobody would ever know what they'd actually do unless put in that situation.

But for me, I say I would press it once, and God help me, if it was one of my loved ones (family & friends), Id go jump off a cliff, couldnt cope knowing Id killed somebody I love

If it was random, Id press it twice, so my kids (when I have them) would be fit for life too, but still fill hugely guilty but you wont know who died so it would pass over (but just thinking about taken somebody away from people who love them is horrid).

I wouldn't say rich, just privileged that my parents do jobs that keep them rather busy: my Mum is a Nurse so she works a lot at night and my dad is a financial advisor and travels around Europe all the time. So yeah sometimes I didn't see them for a week, yes that's the price for money but that doesn't mean we are not happy or we don't tell/show we love each other.
I'm not saying money is the key, of course you need a balance, but trust me, it helps.
I got this teach from my parents who come from poor countries (at the time they arrived here), so just for this reason, they're my idols and why it made my mind on the matter.

Of course it does, but if it's your primary motivation in life or that you believe it's the ticket to happiness you're in real trouble, you know? Has to come from within. Now let's dance lol.

That's not what I think. I've had my heart broken (like I said, the only thing you cannot buy is love), I've had some issues and still do but I think I'd be way worse if I didn't have any money.

Hahah I honestly didn't even remember seeing the trailer till you mentioned it. I saw a similar post on another forum and thought it would spark up an interesting discussion.

Wasn't it a ghost story before a film? Did anybody else hear that, I heard when I was a kid and the person asks after they press the button who died and the man says the person who pushed the button before you!

Not me, I assure you.

I don't care for people I don't know. I am not a charitable person, nor do I do anything if it's not for my own gain. I cherish the one's close to me, but I'd **** all over everyone else.
