You are supposed to mind your own business and don't pretend that you are better than anyone else. It's both good and bad, of course. For Jonas it probably means that when he goes back to Sweden his achievements will not be as recognized as they would have been elsewhere, but it also means that he can go to a local bar without being disturbed, even if he's recognized by everyone. The law itself are more a summary of our collective mind, than guidelines we struggle to follow.

Thank you, it was very interesting! Jante Law is typical for any small town I suppose.... but Jonas doesn´t strike me as small-townish... I think your interpretation of Jante Law applies to him better than the one in the link you provided.
