Patrick Jane used to be a fraudulent psychic and insulted a serial killer called Red-John. In retaliation Red-John killed his wife and daughter.
Patrick gave up being a fradulent psychic and ended up working as a consultant to the Californian Beareu of Investigation using his skills in observation and deductive reasoning to solve crimes. Hoping one day to catch Red-John who is still out there
