A bit, but again not taking the full force.

The wave travelling towards Hawaii was travelling north west. You can draw a circle around the epicentre of the earthquake and wherever that circle is in the sea, thats the direction the wave was travelling in at that particular part

i didnt even watch it i caught a bit of the live waiting for it to happen while channel hopping it just personally found it a bit wrong that they were all sat with cameras trained waiting for something potenially bad to happen yes it wasnt as big as predicted but noone could have known this had it been huge how would you have felt i agree with fom this is real life hundreds of thousands of people were very close to losing everything plus hundreds more could have lost lives the way people are going on is similar to had they gone to cinema and the film was a let down i cant believe people were actually getting excited about watching

i'm very glad none of those on here were in affected area although should that be case there would be some very different attitudes on here am also glad it was as bad as predicted its bad enough the devestation caused by the quake that started all the tsunami warnings let alone other devestation

... which is not many places due to the size of the pacific ocean. All the energy would be lost.

There was an earthquake in Chile yesterday morning which was much stronger than the one in Haiti but occurred much lower in the ground and in a less populated area so not much damage compared to Haiti

The earthquake caused a tidal wave coming from South America and a 3m wave was projected to hit Hawaii at 9.20pm last night. Sky News were running live cameras for quite a while whilst various cameras were set up online. Loads of 'hype' on CNN News too. A lot of people were watching it to see the wave when it came in. The sea level rose 3 feet.
