Juventus want to swap Felipe Melo for Arsenal star Robin Van Persie after Arsenal declared their interest in the brazilian.

Melo is out of favour at Juve after falling out with players and coaching staff.
And is currently not playing in the first team as often as he would like..

Why would we sell our 2nd biggest star at Arsenal for a player who isnt even being played much ..?

Never would i make that swap.

Uruguayan teenager Abel Hernandez is the latest player to be linked with a summer move to Arsenal after a report in Italy’s La Gazzetta Dello Sport claimed that the 19-year-old Palermo striker had been watched by scouts from the Premier League club.

Hernandez only moved to the Serie A outfit last summer but has earned plaudits for his performances this term with goals against Lazio, Inter Milan and Fiorentina. The Penarol protégé, who represented his homeland at last year’s Under-20 World Cup is thought to be frustrated by his lack of first team minutes and could be tempted to quit Italy should a formal approach be lodged by Arsenal.

The left-footed hitman has scored four goals in total this season and has been tipped for a bright future at the top of the game. It remains unclear whether Hernandez would risk a move to England and given the numerous attacking options at Arsene Wenger’s disposal the likelihood of a regular starting berth at Arsenal appears unlikely.

With Moroccan international Marouane Chamakh moving to the Gunners in the summer, Robin van Persie expected to be fit by the end of the season and the likes of Theo Walcott, Nicklas Bendtner, Carlos Vela and Eduardo all battling for time on the pitch, Hernandez may take his potential further afield.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he could risk Cesc Fabregas against Porto despite him having a hamstring injury.
Fabregas suffered a recurrence of a previous hamstring injury against Burnley at the weekend and he is rated doubtful for Tuesday night's Champions League clash.

The Gunners have to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg and Wenger says he could take a risk on his star midfielder, who bagged his 14th goal of the season against the Clarets.

"I'm ready to take the gamble," said Wenger. "But if there is more than a 50 per cent chance of his hamstring going I will not take it.

"You look at the Fabregas numbers and they are amazing - 14 goals and 15 assists. He's a fantastic player with a fantastic attitude and commitment.

And what people forget, an unbelievable work-rate too.

"This season he has taken a big step forward, massive. At 22 years of age he has matured."

Arsenal centre-back William Gallas could quit the Premier League for a lucrative deal in Italy after former coach Claudio Ranieri paved the way for the Frenchman to join him at AS Roma.

Gallas has been in fine form this season alongside new Arsenal fan favourite Thomas Vermaelen but with the player’s contract ending this summer, the veteran is free to speak to possible suitors about a Bosman move at the end of the season.

It is understood that Arsene Wenger is keen to keep Gallas at the Emirates but with the Gunners sticking to their single year contract extension for players over thirty the former Chelsea man could look elsewhere for more stability in his final playing years.

Speaking about the Arsenal star and the speculation mounting in Italy that he could move to the Stadio Olimpico, Ranieri said this week.

“Gallas is a player who has achieved so much in his career.

“I signed him when I was in charge at Chelsea and he has done well both for them and Arsenal.

“He is a top-level player and all top players are welcome at Roma.”

Arsenal could also lose Philippe Senderos this summer with the player expected to complete a permanent deal with Everton, while questions over the long-term suitability of Johan Djourou remain following another injury ravaged season.

Theo Walcott is no stranger to scrutiny. An England World Cup call-up before he had tasted life as a Premier League footballer ensured that the media spotlight would be his constant companion. Yet the 20-year-old with the veteran's outlook has come to understand the rules of the game, in which extreme measures are the day-to-day norm. "The thing is I'm always the country's biggest hope or the country's biggest disappointment," he said.

The Arsenal winger ran the gamut again last week. Derided by the former England winger Chris Waddle after the Wembley friendly victory over Egypt for lacking a "football brain", Walcott bounced back with a match-winning turn against Burnley, which kept Arsenal's Premier League title hopes burning.

Having endured a nervous first half, pockmarked by poor touch and delivery, not to mention a contretemps with his marker Danny Fox, he thrilled after the interval, teeing up chances for Nicklas Bendtner and the substitute Andrey Arshavin, forcing Brian Jensen into a smart save and beating the Burnley goalkeeper with a low left-footed drive. Yes, left-footed.

"Crossing and my left foot are the two big things I have been working on lately," Walcott said. "I want to improve my left foot. Against Burnley, I came inside, saw it open up and I managed to score. Hopefully I can do that more often. I picked out Bendtner with a few crosses as well."

Had Walcott been aware of Waddle's criticism? "I heard what he said but I don't listen to people on the outside of football," he said. "I only listen to the people around me; the boss [Arsène Wenger], Mr Capello, my family and the people around me. I am very level headed and I keep my feet on the ground. I will forget about this performance now and try to kick on and improve on Tuesday [against Porto in the Champions League]. Maybe if I keep performing like that, it will shut people up."

Marouane Chamakh's move to Arsenal has finally been confirmed and the Bordeaux striker is reportedly relishing the new life that awaits him at the Emirates, not to mention the weekly wage of £50,000. "I have always wanted to play in the Premier League," Chamakh is quoted as saying, "and any striker wants to meet that challenge and play in the league... It is not easy in England but the challenge in my career has always been to learn every day, keep improving and always help my club to success."

According to the Mirror, the 26-year-old Moroccan will join the Gunners on a five-year deal at the end of the season when his contract with Bordeaux expires. "I am prepared for a move even though I am completely focused on helping my current club, " continued Chamakh, "that is more important than my personal situation." Chamakh gave Gunners fans a taste of what is in store when scored for Bordeaux at the weekend in their top-of-the-table clash with Montpellier (a game that finished 1-1). It was his eleventh goal of the season for the leaders of the French first division.

He's a joke. Everytime I see him I'm just bewildered at Benitez continuing to play him.

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas looks set to miss the Premier League match at Hull on Saturday as well as the Gunners clash with Porto in the Champions League tonight.

Fabregas was substituted in the first half of Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Burnley on Saturday with a recurrence of a hamstring injury.

The Spanish playmaker now looks likely to be unavailable to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger until the home match with West Ham on March 20, according to a report in The Times today.

Fabregas is quoted in The Sun today: "I wanted to play but the doctors recommended I rest and avoid any risk. I am sad to miss out because Porto is important to us. I will suffer far more than usual, having to watch from the side."

The Arsenal captain has been in irrepressible form in 2009/2010, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists in 32 appearances.

Well they got that a bit wrong.. he has 19 assists in all competitions 15 in the league..

Juventus must attempt to land Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal according to Italian super agent Claudio Pasqualin.

Pasqualin, who has great links with the Old Lady and was once upon a time the agent of Alessandro Del Piero, has said Juventus need Fabregas if they are to become great again.

"I would say a dictator in the midfield is essential and such a player would correspond to Fabregas: young, but already an expert," Pasqualin told Tuttosport.

"Of course, buying Fabregas will not be easy, but there is no doubt the Spaniard is worth a try."

Fabregas has also been linked with former club Barcelona, as well as Real Madrid.

LOL
Fabregas to Juve?

Arsene Wenger is in no doubt that bringing Sol Campbell back to Arsenal was the right thing to do.

The former England international is expected to resume his defensive partnership with Thomas Vermaelen when the Gunners welcome Porto to the Emirates on Tuesday night for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

That will be the centre-back's fifth game of his second spell with the Gunners after leaving in 2006, and Wenger is convinced of the value of his shock January signing.

"It was unexpected that Sol would play so many games, but it is also good because I think it was the right decision to bring him back," Wenger told his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Porto.

"Sol is a guy who gives everything when he is on the pitch.

Arsene Wenger's decision to give Cesc Fabregas the Arsenal captaincy could be decisive in seeing off Barcelona's interest in the sublime midfielder.

The Catalans are planning a summer mega-bid for a player who left them and headed to England as a 16-year-old back in 2003.

Despite often sending mixed messages about his future, Fabregas insists he is happy at the Emirates Stadium, revealing his pride at taking over as skipper from William Gallas 15 months ago.

'I am very united with the club and the supporters,' said the 22-year-old. 'My role as captain has increased my commitment to Arsenal and I am happy there.

'I have been at Arsenal for many years but I don't see myself as the only leader. We are together as a team and I rely on my team-mates to help me be successful. I am no more important than my team-mates.'
