She wrote in it (not the actually magazine) And she writes in this questionaire thing! its so funny! one os the questions was like you have a new partner, what do you do with them? it was like a) get married b) have fun etc then e) was 'other' and she wrote put my carrer before them.

First Tenacious D. and now this? In an interview with NME, M.I.A. goes on record saying that Lady Gaga’s music isn’t a genuine reflection of her influences and genuine mindset. While M.I.A. admitted Gaga has talent, she went on to say, based on a comment that people think the two of them are similar, that, “None of her music’s reflection of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is.” Then she also said this:

“She models herself after Grace Jones and Madonna but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza disco. She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I ****ing do! That’s a talent… but she’s the industry’s last stab at making itself important.”

So wait? Is she pissed because Lady Gaga does M.I.A. better than she can do herself? Awesome! Talk about sour grapes. I love watching princess M.I.A. desperately struggle to hang on to her stret cred (keep filming those videos in Brooklyn so all the white trust fund kids living there can buy your music and feel street too) while making poorly thought-out statements in an attempt to distance herself from pop stars and comedic musical acts, as if her music was so groundbreaking (drum ‘n’ bass and jungle were around in the ’80s and so was politically-fueled punk and MC Lyte for that matter, but, uh sure, she’s no mimic).

M.I.A is missing the whole point. Lady Gaga has never once said her music was progressive. She herself has said it’s vapid club music, although she does compose some songs on piano, which is more than we can say for M.I.A. But, yes, much of Lady Gaga’s music is merely a vehicle for her other talents as an artist, which do have the ability to shock and instill a sense of wonder in people. As far as the plugs for things in her video, I know that at least with the Verizon one, any proceed she makes with that campaign goes to support the LGBT community. Soooo, what’s wrong with that? She’s using her power for good. And regardless of how derivative “Bad Romance” is, it’s ****ing serious fun to listen to, which if that’s the music industry’s last attempt at making itself important, I say thanks for doing something that isn’t Justin Bieber! Lady Gaga has been a refreshing change of pace in the pop world, a female incarnation of glam rock and pop stars, which is progressive for young women, and that’s impossible to refute. Watching a group of girls who grew up in some narrow Midwestern town throw up gun signs to M.I.A’s music in some corner Brooklyn bar is nothing short of awkward and silly.

What’s worse… an industry attempting to make itself important or the kind of self-important self-righteousness that is fueled by tearing down peers?

'Alejandro' was actually the first thing to leak from The Fame Monster. It leaked last September, and everyone thought it was called 'Don't Call My Name.' Then everyone thought it had been cut from TFM because of it leaking, but when the tracklisting was announced people put two and two together.

Who the **** cares about success? Critically she excels GaGa. Rolling Stone named 'Kala' the 9th best album of the decade; NME 72nd. NME gave her debut 'Arular' 50th place on the same list. No GaGa.

And as for the interview - it's probably been worded to sound like she's bitter, when the likelihood is she made an off-the-cuff comment.
