But like Smithy said I have heard them and other stations in my hometown speak about the launch and evictions on the mornings of them and that is advertising.

No its not classed as advertising its called topical conversation.

The BBC who pays Chris his wages for his Breakfast Show, dont do advertising on radio 1 unless its for BBC products and shows etc.
