The number of babies born weighing just 2lbs has more than doubled in the last two years, causing pro-lifers to reinforce the demand to lower the abortion limit from 24 weeks.
http://www.christian.org.uk/news/mor...bortion-limit/ lovely picture to look at if you click the link. What do you think about this? |

I think abortion at 24 weeks is horrendous, it is murder in my eyes if the child was capable of surviving. I think it should be an awful lot lower than 24 weeks tbh.

babies delivered as young as 22 weeks have survived.
I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks and it was eerie how real to a person it looked like on the scan. and you should see how fetuses at 17 and 20 weeks move around on the scans. they are alive. they cant survive outside the womb but they are alive. it's killing a live thing when you have an abortion at that stage. just my 2 cents.

You hear stories of the mother getting left with the baby dying in her arms and the doc and midwife just walking off.

I don't agree with the Catholic view that life begins at the moment of conception, but it is just as valid as arguing that it begins at any other stage of pregnancy.

I don't really agree with abortion at all but understand that they are my feelings and I wouldn't condemn a person for doing it but I really feel strongly that at 24 weeks because the baby could survive outside the womb, that it is very wrong to do it at that stage.

Not strictly true some pills including the morning-after-pill work by preventing a fertilised egg from attaching to the lining of the uterus. So therefore in some cases the new life will have already started as the egg has been fertilised. I am a Catholic, however it doesnt bother me at what stage the foetus or child(called it what you will) is aborted. I have had a vasectomy (did I say i was catholic? I should amend that to i am a bad catholic) so it wont affect me. however if any of my children were to be in the position of thinking about an abortion, I would advise them if they are have it as early in the pregnancy as possible. |

Look these are just my opinions on the matter, I'm not saying I'm right or I'm wrong about it, I just know that I personally would feel I'd murdered my own child if I had an abortion. Having said that I still would think that it is wrong to abort a baby that could survive if it were born

Lol yeah I thought that.. then they are not full on Catholics.. like any other religion.. people just choose which part of the book they want to follow or want to believe and then they instantly think they are a "Catholic, Christian, Buddhist" etc..

In these peoples defence though, most people are just born into the particular religion that they are. I was born into being a Catholic because I'm Irish and my parents were and their parents were etc. I didn't choose to be Catholic and it and its silly rules like the contraception one were forced on me, I don't consider myself to be a Catholic now at all tbh

True faith can't really be forced on anyone. Even if your made to practice a religion it doesn't mean you will conciously believe in it.
I personally disagree with abortion but that's simply because I believe in the idea that it's murder, but that doesn't mean I look upon everyone who does it as a bad person. That's not true at all.

Saying that what would you propose for people who do habitually have abortions to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Something along the line of branding them on the forehead or right cheek with a W for *****? |
