All of them are either good friends or family. And i like keeping in contact especially in situations when its summer and you dont go to school/college, christmas, birthday messages etc... when you dont have credit (which is always for me). Its a free way to contact friends to organise stuff, eg. it replaces my phone, because my phone eats so much money that i have almost entirely given up on phones.
And to keep in touch with my relatives who have moved to America, Italy and Austalia in the last three years.
