Often the best teachers I remember from school were the ones who were best at reading their pupils and knew what made them tick. I remember particularly strict teachers that were pretty bad and pretty much ruined the experience for everyone by spending about 80% of the lession berating the entire class and holding us collectively responsible for all the misbehaviour when in fact it was normally a few morons who should have been kicked out in the first place. Then there was a science teacher who didn't seem able to exert any authority or shut the chavs up, no matter how much he shouted or sent people out.

On the flipside I had an art teacher who was quite liberal with the class, but still a total arsehole and a bully who joined in with other pupils if they targeted someone. One of the most vile people I ever knew at the time and that's saying something in secondary school.

Didn't he once accidentally sneer his face off?
