I don't get what the alternative to closing the threads is supposed to be though, Stu. What are they supposed to say? "Yeah, now, since this is an argument breaking all manners of rules, I'm going to have to close it and sit Stacey.x and Jessica. on the naughty steps. Now all the rest of you go and sit down and I'll make you some hot chocolates"?
Because whilst that'd be lovely, it's impractical. On the contrary, if Stephanie, Jessica, Stacey.X, etc. could just stop being an attention-seeking mess for just a second there wouldn't be a problem.
