and sure, gaga's big amongst all of the internet generation and fags, but how many adults 30+ know who she is? Very few, and most only by name, not a clue about her music. Do they know who Madonna is? Almost certainly.

I voted Madge, Her songs are timeless and I listen to her really early stuff now, Gaga is great don't get me wrong, But she's not in the same league as Madonna in my opinion, If Gaga is around for another 40 odd years then we shall see!

Madonna's most famous songs are her earlier ones. The point is more people know of Madonna and her music because whether you like her or not, she's a music icon that's had more impact then Gaga and many other acts can ever hope to achieve. Madonna's one of the reasons we have so many successful female artists because she opened the gates as well as impacting the public's impression on feminimity and sexuality.

In contrast Lady Gaga has gone to some award ceremony dressed in a curtain.

Gaga MIGHT be nearly as successful and respected as Madonna one day but she's nowhere near that level now.

I can see where your coming from, and I don't think I'd ever say she was the greatest artist ever.
It's just some people think that she's a one hit wonder who isn't going to be able to sustain a career after this album, so I just feel the need to reinforce the fact that she isn't

And what does that say about her exactly? Behind it all she's never been this "quirky". In fact, watch all of the vids of her performing in local bars and clubs. She looked rather normal. And when she first hit stardom, she was never as outrageous as she looks now. She is just one big phoney and I'm not falling for it.
