All those things have benefits too though. Smoking doesn't. It's not even fun. It doesn't get you high. It's just an end unto itself. That's why I stopped. I was smoking because I was a smoker.

[And the green stuff is getting better and cheaper where I live, so I don't need the muck anyway. For some reason smoking pot makes me realize how bad smoking fags are and leaves me with no inclination to do so].

Sometimes I like to have a smoke. Like victory cigars! Or celebratory cigars. I sometimes casually have a cigarette but I have never gotten addicted, I don't find it addictive. Only if I have a lot to drink I sometimes crave to have a nice relaxing smoke. That's it. I never smoke cos' I'm stressed. I just don't. Besides I hardly ever smoke anymore anyway.

LOL if you say so, i used to work for a Language School and i dealt with all the foreign students, all of them was well educated and all of them was from well off backgrounds and i'd say about 90% of them smoked, and they was all aged between 14 - 18...

As far as smoking goes, thats there choice, personally i hate tobbaco but thats me, if Big Brother contestants wanna smoke them self to death, i say go ahead.

I can't even remember now why I started smoking, but I've done so for years because I actually enjoyed it, as do many other people who smoke, it's not all purely down to being addicted.

Not saying I don't want to give up because I do as I'm aware of the health risks as I'm not dumb and uneducated but lots of things we do that we enjoy are bad for us, not just smoking! I find people like you offensive, my life my choice!

Chels is right, its their lifestyle choice, it makes no difference to you. I'm sure they are all 100% aware of the dangers that come with smoking but continue to do so because it is their choice.

Its silly to say that the majority of smokers are uneducated members of the public, that's a bizarre statement. Anyone who has the ability to make their own decisions have the option of smoking, well educated or uneducated.

Your speaking about alcohol as if its perfectly safe and harmless but in reality it holds just as many dangers as tobacco. It may not hold such direct links to cancer but it can cause life threatening liver problems so please explain why you think smoking tobacco is unforgivable but think consuming alcohol is textbook?

As for Channel 4 cutting out the 'N' word but continuing to broadcast HMs smoking; it may have something to do with the fact that racial discrimination is against the law and smoking is not. Basically if you think smoking should be banned in the house, consuming alcohol should be banned respectively, how does that sound?
