He quotes the scriptures, which i would assume is the Bible. And unless the Bible is re-written, then its message to those that believe it, has to be adhered to. If Christians were to say that certain parts of the Bible are wrong, then what else will be questioned.

And so....we have someone who was questioned as to whether he would/could marry a gay couple in his position as a priest....his answer would therefore be correct as per his belief of the scriptures ( as he pointed out at the time). Maybe then he should of been asked if he had an opinion on gay marriages in a civil ceremony.
An example would be that if asked if he could take part in marrying a Mormon to a 2nd/3rd/4th wife, his answer would probably be no....does that mean he is anti mormon???? No..it means he cannot take part in that ceremony in his position as a priest due to his following of the scriptures.

Personally i feel sorry for those that follow religion with such blinkered attitudes. The Catholic Church is supposed to be one that loves all gods children, and yet it built its following in South America on murder and prosecution of those that didnt want to follow their gang.

IMO, Religion sucks and can be seen throughout history as the major influential difference between peoples which result in wars.

Religion is only as bad as people make it. It's extremely rare in this day and age for people to take every word of the bible literally and those that do (clerical hypocrites) like to pick and choose.
