So you disagree with NASA, that the planet has been cooling down over the last 5 years?

Even if it has though it doesn't mean that there still isn't a general warming trend... It can go in peaks & troughs, in the past climate change hasn't been simply consistantly warming then cooling, it does go up & down...

How long is a trend. Should we go back 5 years, 50 years, 500 years or 3 million years. What caused our planet to be 10 times hotter than it is today? What brought it out of the ice age 300 million years ago?

Longer than 5 years! I'd say, personally, 10-20 years at least... probably longer...

In the UK the general warming trend has actually only been really evident for around the last 30 years... Before that we had some seriously cold winters in the 40's, 60's & 70's which lowered the average...

they don't make global warming predictions based on only UK temps. Locally they predict temps in UK to get colder as a result of global warming because that area will get more northerly winds from the arctic. ( something to do with changes in sea convection currents in the Northern Atlantic).

You've never known a trend to last upto 5 years? I remember the 'smoothie' haircut in the early 80's, last 2 years at best.

Theres no PROOF that any climate change is man made.Might be tempting to jump to the conclusion it is which is why much of the public are prepared to swallow it.Powers that be are constantly looking for ways to panic the population presenting them with a host of enemies real and imagined.Ben is a real libertarian for his courageous stance.

last 5 years is too short ... look at it over 200 years. These numbers vary in 10 year cycles but the overall direction is up. plus...
CO2 up, ocean temps up, ocean acidity up etc.
etc

wake up dude. Your not that old sado from top gear are you?

these numbers vary over 5 and 10 year cycles. The longer trend can be hidden if you look only at the last 5 years. 200 years because that's when all the inventions of the scientific age began to be applied in industry.

government scientist A: hey jeff, what you think caused the ending of the last ice age?
government scientist B: well, from what ive read, their was an increase in testosterone in the men, they started to get very horny and everyone started ****in like rabbits, so more people yeah... that means more farting and more fires to keep everyone warm, and more log fires meant more horny couples ****in like rabbits, see cause and effect, CO2 increases simple
government scientist A: never thought of that, nice one mate, lets present our findings to the UN
