Well Ben liked Mario as a FRIEND only because he is NOT gay - he made it perfectly clear to Mario he was NOT interested in anything else, and Mario is now reacting to rejection like a stereotypical bitchy queen. If I were Ben I'd steer well clear since Mario is clearly the obsessive type.

The best that can be said of Ben is that he gave enough signals to Mario, enough for Mario to believe there was potential there. It's not the first time a "straight" man has went further than "just good friends".

In any event, Mario is not angry at Ben for his rejection of him but for the homophobia he heard from ben.

Which Ben was not challenging, but condoning. His prospects meant more to him than being concerned about the hurt his comment caused mario, even referring to mario as a Bitch, when challenged on this.
