Nice moment you chose to make your point.

Enough. Life's too short not to have an 'ignore' list.

You are sooo wrong! Not everyone is totally mercenary in their outlook - some do their jobs for other reasons other than money, or is that something totally beyond your comprehension? Things like job satisfaction and helping others come to mind!

Exposing the falseness of the war. How mentally unstable does one have to be to believe that risking your life for £400 a week is ok, madness.

I would much prefer our troops patrol british streets catching illegals and other bad people, then i'd get something for the taxes i contribute.

He's right about that but he specifically mentioned WWII and the fact that we were not personally threatened.

Catching illegals? That says a lot about you if you think that's so important.

Maybe you made another ignorant comment that provoked him - sounds like a real possibility to me!

The reports and personal expressions coming from soldiers in iraq/afghanistan are that they're risking their lives, yes, some think they're doing good, some have, but generally they're not.

I cannot think of one good thing the people in britain have gained from this.

Considering Ben reads you'd think he's be more intelligent but it just goes to show there are some thing you cant get from book learning.

Tell that to the Taliban! Dictators would rule the world with no one to stand up to them!

Due to human behaviour, we need them.

The first job of government is to protect the nations people, they're not doing this in iraq/afghanistan.

As the Aunty of a serving soldier I totally agree with you ,iraq,Afghanistan wars have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorists ,its about OIL and 300 UK soldiers have died for it ,No more

Nazism was supported by Prescott Bush, then 'America' + Bush joined the war against Adolf, makes you wonder who the enemy is.

Also, Adolf often made the point that he loved the british.

Was 'nazism' organised to justify war?

I think half the forum will be on there by the end of the series - she waves her ignore list around like a flag! Good luck to her! Ha, ha! Unfortunately she won't read this - as I'm already on there apparently! He,he!

I read books about serial killers, that does not mean that I am one or an expert on them. Ben assumes that Steve doesn't read and because of those assumptions thinks Steve's view is less valid than his own.

If ben did read about the causes of the war, he would know that Nevile failed in his attempt at peace with Hitler. Hitler was going to war no matter what and a treaty with britain wasn't going to stop him!

I happen to believe that the Iraq war was started illegally, on the whim of a US president who, lets face it, was a bit dim. But Ben has foot in mouth disease and should have put his view across more tactfully.

Steve wasn't fighting for 'His' country, or anyone else's - he was in occupied territory, acting as a peace keeper between two opposing factions of society.
