Now JJ hates it when people judge other people on their looks, so now he is conflicted with himself because he has found this perfect woman but has found himself doing what he hates and that is judging her somewhat on her looks because he knows that if she was more attractive he would 'fancy' her like crazy.
So this is frustrating him and he bottles up this emotion which he ends up taking out on Josie.
Remember I'm not trying to defend his actions, just offering up a theory. What do other people think?
