Time After Time. Delightfully absurd little adventure/thriller that mixes fact with fiction as we see H.G. Wells travel through time, hot in pursuit of Jack the Ripper, who has fled late 19th century London and taken residence in modern day San Francisco. It's all very silly really, but executed with such enthusiasm and warmth that you can't really help but enjoy it.

Up In The Air, have wanted to watch it for a while, and really enjoyed it. Clooney is great, and Anna Kendrick (Jessica in Twilight) really impressed me in this. She's got a great acting career ahead of her. Will be buying this on DVD, I thought it was great.

I watched these two a month or so back, loved them. The second was better than the first though.

I watched this last night and agree it is quite strange, I was expecting a horror so I really did not know what to make of it.


The Final - 6/10, was quite good, a tad gory in some parts but worth a watch.

Overall not bad, it's just as well I didn't check the Guardian's scathing review of the movie before I went to see it. It's true that the movie is sentimental and the characters are stereotypical, but it all done with a great sense of craft. The direction is sensitive and screenplay is sharp, but the it would have benefitted from having a good 30-45 minutes knocked off and it falls seriously wide of the mark in attempting to create an ensemble movie about an entire orchestra with its overabundance of subplots. The moving, unforced emotional payoff at the end was just about worth it though.

I found it really enjoyable to watch. Not just because Tyra Banks was in it, but because it was entertaining. I loved the romance and what she had to go through it really gripped you into the film. So yeah it was great!
